This week we continued working on our CSS layout creating the Dreamweaver template file (DWT). We also worked with Tabbed Spry boxes, how to embed YouTube videos, Google Calendars and more.

This week we are introducing WordPress. WordPress is one of the leading CMS (Content Management Systems) available (FREE!) to build web sites with. In class I will be using WordPress.com, a free blogging site, to cover the backend setup and basics of WordPress. This week we started working on our next project in class. This site will be built around a CSS layout using Dreamweaver CS5. We cover basic CSS editing, DIV tags and created images in Photoshop CS5 to use in the header background and content background.

This week we finish working on our first project in class, the GWC Swim site. We finished working on the overall layout, inserted META tags and created editable areas. Then we created a template file (.dwt) and created all the pages for the site.

This week we continue working on our first project in class, the GWC Swim site. We set up the site in Dreamweaver CS5 and started working on our main layout. We covered page properties and how CSS is used to mark up the page. Using tables we created a framework and placed the images that were created last week in Photoshop into our site. We also cover how to create rollovers and built our navigation.

This week we continue working on our first project in class, the GWC Swim site. We finished up the navigation, and rollover artwork. Going over the slice tool we cut up the layout in Photoshop. After slicing we go over optimization using the Save for Web system and set up the root level for the site in Dreamweaver.
